Jan-Hendrik Büscher is a PhD student in Service Operations Management at the University of Mannheim. His research examines how supply-chain design and product design interact, with a particular focus on CO₂ emissions. Using conjoint experiments, he quantifies how consumers value carbon-emission information relative to price and other attributes links these estimates to an optimization model. The aim is to translate these preferences into implementable product and supply-chain choices and to provide actionable guidance for firms and policymakers seeking effective emission reductions.
He holds a B.Sc. from the Hamburg School of Business Administration and an M.Sc. from the University of Mannheim. He brings professional experience from KPMG and links his research to practice through assurance work on sustainability statements.
